During the last decade, there was an attempt by federal agencies to move away from bureaucratic and cumbersome writing to clear and direct prose in all government communication. The NIH has been at the forefront of this effort and the NIH OD Executive Secretariat provides a manual of recommendations on how to write more clearly and succinctly. The NIH Library provides translation services for all NIH staff holding a current NIH ID and who have beenn approved for Library privileges.

Writing Center Collection

Writing Center resources are for use within the NIH Library and cannot be checked out. The Library may provide duplicate copies in the circulating collection or obtain a copy through Interlibrary Loan.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, fill out an Interlibrary Loan request. This service is free to NIH staff.
